365 Drinks: #165 Angkor Extra Stout (Cambodia)

Angkor Extra Stout
Angkor Extra Stout

Eight percent stout that doesn’t taste like shit… so dreamy!

Today was time to leave the beach for good and make our way back to Phnom Penh to see something of the city before our new years celebrations begin. So we hopped on a minibus. It was a rather interesting ride with pumping bass music and flashing lights in the bus. Apparently Cambodians are really into that kind of stuff. I can’t wait to see what’s going on here on New Years Eve. We arrived at our new hostel late in the evening and just went out for a stroll to get some food before heading back to the hostel. Of course I didn’t forget my beer for today.

I hesitated to get another stout after the fail from yesterday but never try, never know. So I bought a bottle of Angkor Extra Stout. The a bit thicker clear brown stout had a medium creamy head and smelled sweet malty. The taste was a lot better than the ABC stout I had yesterday. I tasted sweet malty with a caramelly and even roasted coffee bean flavor to it. It is a nice beer but a strong 8 percent stout is better to be drunk when it’s not 30°C and humid as fuck.
