We went back to Yangon for the Burmese New Year. Four days of splashing water and getting drunk, at least that’s what we heard. This also means that no supermarkets will be open and that it would might be harder to find a drink that I haven’t had yet. So I stocked up. One of the drinks I bought was a Dagon Super. The clear golden beer had a very malty aroma and wasn’t really fizzy. It tasted very malty as well and had some apple-like flavors to it. The 640ml bottle was just over $1, which is super cheap, especially considering that it has a high alcohol content of 7.2 percent. Not too bad overall but it felt and tasted more like an ale than a lager.
