Today we made our way up to Nara, the ancient capital of Japan. We visited the famous park with all it’s deer and hung out for a while. And since Nara got some pretty good sake breweries I got myself a cup of Kuromatsu Kisenju Junmai sake from the convenience store. The 15 percent rice wine came in a 180ml cup with a peel-off metal lid. It was pretty cheap at only ¥150 ($1.20), so I expected the worst. The smell was sweet and not too alcoholic nor too rice-like. The taste was rather mild as well. It had sour, slightly spicy flavors with not much of an aftertaste. Not a bad sake, especially considering the price.
