Thanks to our awesome friend in London, we got a hook up and had the luck to stay pretty close to the Mission nightlife area of San Francisco. Our hosts were also so nice to leave us some red wine. So we enjoyed dinner with a glass of St Francis Old Vines Zinfandel, made in nearby Sonoma, California. The dark red wine had a slightly sweet but not really fruity aroma that wasn’t too heavy. But it tasted pretty heavy with berry flavours and a sour finish. A nice wine to our pasta and, although heavy, still easy to drink. After Asia, it’s nice to get some good wine—and to cook—again.
