It was time for us to leave St. Louis again and make our way further up north towards Chicago. But not without taking a little souvenir. We stopped by the Schlafly Brewery and bought a six pack of their Schlafly Oatmeal Stout. It had a dark cloudy, not really creamy body and not much of a head. The smell was rather sweet-malty. It tasted a bit like bread at the beginning with sweet-malty-creamy flavours following, similar to a Guinness but with a bit more bitter aftertaste that lasted for quite a while. So far all the beers I tried in St. Louis were awesome, and this one is not different. The guys there know what they are doing.
