It’s always good to know people that know their beer. Just like Semi’s old friend that we met in Chicago. We hung out in the backyard and all of a sudden he pulled out a bottle of Darklord Imperial Stout from 3 Floyds Brewing, of the vintage from 2013. This 15 percent ABV monster was destined to be my drink of the day. It had a dark body that reminded me of motor oil with a dark beige creamy foam. The smell was sweet malty with a hint of fermentation sourness to it. When drinking it it felt like soy sauce but had flavours of chocolate, coffee and a hint of sour cherry all round up in this malty sweetness. A beer that reminded more of a good bottle of wine than your usual after work drink. Just fucking awesome.
Thank you Mr. and Mrs. Tacolexa for your fantastic hospitality, even though it was short!
