On scenic Belle Isle, an island park in the middle of the Detroit River
Today I tried a beer of another Detroit based brewery, a Dirty Blonde Ale from Atwater Brewery. The slightly weak 4.5 percent wheat ale brewed with orange peel and coriander had a tiny bit cloudy, dark yellow body and wasn’t foamy but had big bubbles. It smelled very sweet and fruity, almost like bananas. The taste was a bit yeasty with hints of citrus and banana, quite crisp and refreshing but maybe a bit too much carbonation for my taste. A rather average beer.
