Today we managed to visit another of the many breweries in the Detroit area. This time Woodward Avenue Brewers, where I ordered their Vanilla Porter. This 5.2 percent porter had a dark cloudy body with a medium-sized white creamy head. It smelled malty and a bit sour—I couldn’t recognise any vanilla aromas. The taste was more chocolatey than like vanilla. It was a bit bitter in the finish and crisp and refreshing. I expected something different and was a bit disappointed but the beer that I got is still not too bad.
