At Bronx Bar, one of the oldest bars in Detroit!
Another day, another round of beer. Today a Triomphe Belgian-style IPA by Grand Rapids-based Brewery Vivant. This 6.5 percent IPA was a tasty-looking amber with a small white, big bubbled head. It smelled sweet hoppy with a citrucy fruityness to it and a hint of sourness that reminded me of an early apple cider. The taste was rather sweet and the consistency a bit thick, just like a Belgium beer should be, but also with the fruitiness of a IPA but without too much of a bitterness at the end. An awesome beer.
All the beers we had from Vivant were really excellent! Definitely give em a try if you’re in the Michigan area. See what other beers we’ve been loving on Untappt!
