A German finds an amazing German beer… in America!!

Detroit’s Hopcat bar has a huge selection of beer. Their “others” section on the menu catched my eye. In there I found a gose beer called The Kimmie, the Yink and the Holy Gose Ale by Anderson Valley Brewing Co. Gose is a German type of beer that I never tried before, so I had to order one.

The beer came in a smaller glass and only had 4.2 percent alcohol, a bit disappointing. It was clear golden and had a small creamy white head. The smell was sour citrucy. All not super great so far and I expected it to be a rather shit beer. But then I had a sip and it tasted just AWESOME. It was sour with citrus flavours that reminded me of a lemon drop. I love sour things and this beer was actually pretty sour. The beer was quite refreshing as well so it is quite good as a summer beer. I definitely want to try more of these.
