It was a rainy day and perfect weather to visit the Niagara Falls on the Canadian side. Quite a spectacular scene but full with tourists and the city reminded of a small and kid-friendly version of Las Vegas. And it seems that they also grow wine in the area. In one of the government-run liquor stores I found a Canada Red Zweigelt-Merlot from the Niagara Peninsula. This 12.5 percent wine had a dark red body and a very heavy but nice aroma to it; slightly fruity and slightly sour. It had a very heavy taste with hints of sweet berries and a sour kick to it. Although heavy, it was easy to drink with a not-too-long-lasting aftertaste. Quite a good wine that makes you want more.
