We like our cherries in Michigan, but what a weird name for a cider
“Paw Paw” reads like the sound you make when you imitate gunshots (that’s “pow pow”…) but it is also a town in Michigan. And they make cider there. I had one of their Cherry Gunga-Din Ciders by the St. Julian Winery. This 5.9 percent cider had a a ruby red clear body and no head. It smelled very sour with cherry aromas. The taste was just as expected: quite sour tart cherry flavoured with a long lasting cherry aftertaste. A nice big-bubbled cider that had quite some similarities to the fruity Berliner Weisse I had yesterday.
