365 Drinks: #67 Efes Pilsner (Turkey)

In Turkey EVERYBODY drinks Efes

In Turkey EVERYBODY drinks Efes

So our last full day in Turkey has come. We saw a lot of things, ate a lot of food and drank a lot of alcohol. The drinks were quite expensive and when it came to Turkish beer, there were not that many options. It’s Efes, Efes, Efes or Bomonti (I’m not counting Tuborg or Miller in here). So after a bit more than threeweeks of drinking normal Efes together with most of my previous chosen drinks, here it is finally. My drink of the day is regular, normal as shit, Efes pilsner.

I had it so many times while being here in Turkey because it’s most common and least exotic. The smell is sweetish slightly fruity and it is fizzy foamy as you know it from any other typical lager that comes in a can. The taste is also pretty average, it is slightly biter and hoppy but also quite sweet. It is an alright beer that was my friend all the way through Turkey. If I would see it in a shop outside of Turkey with more choice, I would not take it.
