Blub, or Berliner Luft- und Badeparadies, was opened in 1985 as a premier water park in the Neukölln district of Berlin. It was closed in 2005 for health and safety reasons, and it then became a premier spot for local youth to party, budding graffiti artists to practice their style, and tourists from around the world to have an easy dig into good ol’ Berlin-style urban exploration. Like many of Berlin’s abandoned buildings, it’s high-traffic and easy-access. However, as of this year it’s been damaged by fire a number of times, most recently in July when a suspected arson devoured around 4,500 square metres of roof. This is what it looked like when we visited in September 2015.
